Biminent Tools
Nine everyday Revit utilities, free as a pyRevit extension.
Biminent Tools is the free, open tier of the Biminent family — a pyRevit extension that adds a BMTtab to the Revit ribbon. It collects the small jobs that eat up a modelling day: linking folders of DWGs, renaming batches of views and sheets, clearing out the leftovers before a delivery, and selecting exactly the elements you mean. No licence, no account — install it and it's yours.
What's in the tab
DWG panel
- ✓Link DWGs: Link every DWG in a selected folder into the active model in one pass.
- ✓Open Link: Open the source file of the selected CAD link(s) in the default Windows program.
- ✓Reload Link: Reload the selected CAD link(s) from disk to pick up changes.
Naming panel
- ✓Rename Studio: Batch rename Views, Sheets, Levels, Grids, Rooms, Materials and View Filters with find & replace, prefix/suffix and live preview.
Review panel
- ✓Purge+: One checklist for unplaced rooms and areas, unenclosed areas, views not on sheets, sheets without viewports, unused scope boxes and imported DWGs — with counts before you commit.
- ✓Review Warnings: Model warnings grouped by type with counts. Check the ones you care about, then select or isolate the elements involved.
Select panel
- ✓Select in Range: Select elements whose instance parameter falls in a text or numeric range, filtered by category.
- ✓Select in Scope Box: Select everything inside one or more scope boxes, filtered by category and level. Handles rotated scope boxes.
- ✓Select Similar: Select elements matching the picked one by category, family, type, or instance parameter value — in the active view or the whole model.
Installation
Install BMT from pyRevit's Extensions window. Reload pyRevit and the BMT tab appears on the ribbon.
